The Yemeni Army’s Republican Guard, backed by the Houthi forces, managed to capture the strategic mountaintop at Jabal Al-Kuna on Monday, resulting in the swift withdrawal of all Hadi loyalists to the eastern part of the Al-Jawf Governorate.

According to Yemen-based Al-Jabhah News Agency, the Yemeni Republican Guard and Houthi forces overwhelmed the Hadi loyalists at Jabal Al-Kuna, killing and wounding severa members of the aforementioned pro-government group on Monday.

Jabal Al-Kuna overlooks much of the roads in northern Yemen, making it one of the most important mountaintops inside the country.

In response to the Yemeni Republican Guard’s success on Monday, the Saudi-led Coalition carried out a large number airstrikes over the Al-Jawf and Sa’ada governorates, targeting residential areas and crowded markets around these provinces in northern Yemen.
