BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – Amateur video footage (below) has emerged showing a huge Syrian Army convoy comprising dozens of tanks moving north from the province of Damascus towards Homs.

The convoy is part of an ongoing reinforcement of Syrian Army forces near areas held by armed rebel groups in Homs province’s northern countryside as well as small parts of southern Hama province.

To this effect, Syrian government forces are pitted launch a major offensive in and around the city of Rastan – a key militant stronghold in the region.

According to sources, some of the more than fifty armored vehicles seized from rebel forces in eastern Qalamoun earlier in April will be used by the Syrian Army for the upcoming Rastan operation (further details here).
