A massive explosion ripped through Wazir Akbar Khan area of Kabul, killing and injuring scores.

The deadly attack, which took place at the morning rush hour near a number of embassies, was carried out when a suicide bomber blew up his booby-trapped car; inflicting enormous  havoc upon the secure quarter.

The deadly suicide car bomb has killed 80 people and injured 350 others. Up to 30 cars have been destroyed and damaged as well.

The attack, the deadliest in to hit Kabul in years, comes as the country’s Muslims celebrate the first few days of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.

A video filmed inside the Iranian embassy show the damage done to the building due to the blast.
