Joe Biden is visiting Iraq in an unannounced meeting since his latest trip to Iraq in 2011. He is visiting Iraq amid political turmoil,  exact reason why Joe Biden is visiting Iraq remains unclear. Media outlets all have different opinions about his visit.

Some sources say he is visiting Iraq to solve the political crisis, Iraq is having a crisis as the Iraqi PM selected technocrats instead of the current parliament members. However there is fierce resistance when it comes to the shift of the cabinet.

Additionally, Iraq wants to liberate Mosul, which might be a second reason for him to visit Iraq. Iraqi security forces are collecting data and positioning themselves before Ramadan starts, Falujah is also the next city that will be liberated from Daesh elements.
