BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – The Spokesperson for the U.S. State Department Heather Nauert condemned the Palestinian groups that fired several rockets into Israel this week.
The U.S. diplomat called the Palestinian response ‘unacceptable’ and urged them to halt their hostilities towards Israel.
However, when asked by journalist Said Arakat why she did not condemn Israel’s military operation that resulted in the death of seven Palestinians, Nauert told the former that she cannot comment on this matter.
“I can’t comment on Israel’s decision to make its, uhh, to go with its operation that took place over the weekend,” Nauert said.
Nauert told Arikat that he would have to speak to the Israeli military on this matter:
The latest fighting b/w #Israel & #Gaza was clearly provoked by an Israeli incursion which killed 7 Palestinians. Heather Nauert last night was shameless in expressing the Trump administration's one sidedness. Her responses to @SMArikat's questions are nothing short of disgusting pic.twitter.com/ZZkrCXfrpC
