BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:35 P.M.) – The U.S. Coalition launched several airstrikes along the Syrian-Iraqi border, yesterday, striking a number of Islamic State (ISIS) sites in the process.

“Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve and its partners continued to strike Islamic State of Iraq and Syria targets in designated parts of Syria and Iraq between April 13-19, conducting 30 strikes consisting of 47 engagements,” Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Coalition launched several airstrikes near the Syrian border-city of Albukamal on April 19th, destroying at least five ISIS-held buildings.

In addition to the airstrikes near Albukamal, the U.S. Coalition targeted the Islamic State’s positions near the Iraqi border-city of Al-Qaim in the Al-Anbar Governorate.

These airstrikes were launched shortly after Iraqi F-16 jets crossed over into Syria and bombed the Islamic State’s positions.
