BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:35 A.M.) – A new report by U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry has refuted claims by Amnesty International and Turkey that the Kurdish militias, primarily the People’s Protection Units (YPG), are engaging in ethnic cleansing in areas of its control in northern Syria.

“Though allegations of ‘ethnic cleansing’ continued to be received during the period under review, the Commission found no evidence to substantiate claims that the YPG or the SDF [Syrian Democratic Forces] ever targeted Arab communities on the basis of ethnicity, nor that YPG cantonal authorities systematically sought to change the demographic composition of territories under their control through the commission of violations directed against any particular ethnic group,” the UN said.

The United Nations explained that there was a necessity for the displacements of people, and not for reasons of ethnic cleansing.

“Across northern Syria, SDF or YPG forces displaced communities in order to clear areas mined by ISIS during their withdrawal,” the UN report said.

The report was critical of the YPG however, by highlighting forced conscription into their ranks.

“In some cases, SDF or YPG forces did not provide adequate humanitarian aid such as tents or water to displaced communities. YPG forces further continue to forcibly conscript men and boys for military service.”

Kurdish groups are using this report to dispel the claims made by Turkey and militant groups that they were engaging in ethnic cleansing.

Amnesty International and Turkey better read the the UN Human Rights Office report about the massive destruction, extrajudicial killings and numerous other serious human rights violations committed by Turkey between July 2015 and December 2016 in southeast Anatolia.

p.s. Reading the criteria for genocide laid down in the UN Genocide Convention shows that the UN Human Rights Office was friendly to Erdogan and could have denounced Turkey of genocide.

With KSA leading the human rights commission, it’s nowhere near to happen.
Well, just a little like when Kurt Waldheim was general secretary and his relations with Aratfat : a Nazi with a Skorzeny’s puppil, LOL!

KSA leading?

Prince Zeid bin Ra’ad Al Hussein – is the son of Prince Ra’ad bin Zeid, Lord Chamberlain of Jordan. First in line to the throne of the Kingdom of Iraq, educated in the UK and the US. Officer of the Desert police (Arab Legion) and Jordanian career diplomat… You must know what he is to understand the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights policies. I first looked him up a while ago.

p.s. The report on Turkey was not picked up by MSM but IMHO shows where some international relevant countries stand.

Yes. Magrebin Arabian is to hard to read for Beni Mashreq. Now only the Mabgreb people can get virgins and wine. But the French do not know that they could have written it in French anyway.

p.s. The egotistic French would not care as long as only their own terrorist do not return.

Though I’m not in favour of the Turkish invasion of Syria, I’m not in favour of the covert US invasion of Syria by the US and co either under the guise of the so called YPG. Actually there is ethnic cleansing of Arab communities in US/YPG occupied northern Syria and elsewhere on a majour scale. The Syrian government also has evidence of that. As in every US/Zionist invasion, ethnic cleansing of the local poupulation and the change in the demographic composition of the population with the replacement of the populationb by US/Zionist servile settlers is a main component in any… Read more »

Sorry, I am no supporter of Erdogan. But please note that the first to complain about ethic cleansing of Arabs by the YPG was the Syrian government. Actually the YPG is the puppet of the US while the FSA are the puppets of Erdogan and the Saudi tyrant king. They both have one agenda: bring down the Syrian government and turn Syria into a slave Zio Nazi region. The YPG on direct orders from the US that controls it wants to split Syria illegally grabbing all of Northern Syria with the excuse of a Kurdish independent (US controlled) state, and… Read more »

The so called ‘U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry’ have already proved its reliability by falsely claiming that the Syrian and Russian airforces committed war crimes in Aleppo when they liberated the native inhabitants of the second largest Syrian city from the terror squads which are trained and funded by the members of this very same commission.

The claim is accurate, only the facts are different. Turks of genocide against the Armenians tend to forget their genocidal and petdestih in recent years in a number of Kurds. Now even those beyond the borders of Turkey.
