As Israel struck sites throughout the Gaza Strip last night – in what the IDF called retaliation strikes for a roadside bomb which exploded on the border of Gaza injuring four Israeli soldiers – it managed to do damage to only civilians, killing two 17 year old boys.
Salem Mohammad Sabah and Ayman Abu Sheikha, were the names of both 17 year old Palestinians murdered last night by israeli aerial bombardments, in Eastern Rafah (South Gaza). Their bodies were pulled out of the rubble of destroyed civilian infrastructure.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced, that in response to the explosion of an IED on the Gaza border, the Israeli military should now focus on working to assassinate leading Hamas and Islamic Jihad members. It is still unconfirmed as to who planted the explosive, which injured solely soliders.
Gaza was hit with tank fire, airstrikes and intimidation tactics, such as the firing of flares over civilian neighborhoods were also used throughout the night. Sirens were also blaring in Israeli border settlements, no damage was reported and no rockets were confirmed to have landed or hit anything.
