BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 P.M.) – A Turkish political official with the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) claimed on Tuesday that Turkey is the “only friend” the Kurds have in this world.

Omer Celik, the spokesman for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s governing Turkish Justice and Development Party (AKP), on Tuesday, rejected claims that Turkey was a threat to Kurds and said that Turkey was the Kurds’ “only friend.”

“No one can teach the Republic of Turkey lessons about protecting our Kurdish brothers,” he began.

“The Republic of Turkey is the biggest, even the only friend of the Kurds”, Celik told reporters, as quoted by Anadolu.

He then rejected any accusations leveled at Turkey and concerns over its treatment of Kurds.

“Those who tell Turkey ‘don’t touch Kurds’ should look in the mirror and remember their oppression of Kurds”, Celik emphasized.

Strange that most Kurds, Arabs and Syriacs seem to feel differently.

Do not like this man but there is some truth here. Kurds who joined ISIS are his friends and Turkey Kurds who voted for him are his friends. PKK in Syria did train the YPG. Erdoggie is responsible for the slaughter of Christians and Alawites in the north as well as Kurdish civilians and many other Syrians.
