BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebels had a productive weekend in the Afrin region, as their troops managed to capture several areas from the YPG forces.

Led by the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Sham Regiment, the Turkish-backed rebels scored a big advance on Friday, when their troops captured the towns of Abu Kab and Hacilar in southeast Afrin.

As a result of this advance, the Turkish-backed rebels are now just a few hundred meters away from the strategic town of Jandaris.

Jandaris is one of the largest towns in the Afrin region and its proximity to the Idlib provincial border makes it a top priority for the Turkish General Staff.
