BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:05 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebels took control of another town in the Afrin region after a short battle with the Kurdish-led YPG forces.

According to pro-opposition activists, the Free Syrian Army captured the town of Qarmanlaq after the Turkish Armed Forces heavily bombarded the YPG’s positions in western Afrin.

Turkish-backed rebels have now set their sights on the town of Sheikh Hadid, which is heavily fortified by the YPG forces.

Since launching their offensive in Afrin on January 20th, the Turkish-backed rebels have captured at least 23 percent of this imperative region in Aleppo’s northwestern countryside.
