BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 A.M.) – The Turkish-backed rebels have seized a large chunk of the Afrin region since they began operations in this part of the Aleppo Governorate on January 20th.

According to the Turkish General Staff, their forces and allies have captured at least 23 percent (537 square kilometers) of the Afrin region after 38 days of battle.

Most of their gains have taken place along the Turkish-Aleppo border, as they have primarily concentrated on this area since the Syrian government forces entered the Afrin region.
