BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed National Liberation Front (NLF) announced the redeployment of several units to the northern and northwestern parts of the Hama Governorate this week as they prepare to defend their areas from the upcoming Syrian Arab Army (SAA) offensive.
On a Wednesday, the National Liberation Front released a new video showing their forces in northern Hama targeting a Syrian Arab Army tank in the small town of Tal Marq.
As shown in the video below, the National Liberation Front fighters fired an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) towards the Syrian Army tank; it appears to have hit its target as a powerful explosion was seen after impact.
The arrival of the National Liberation Front to the front-lines in northern Hama is a major boost to the rebel forces as the situation in the demilitarized zone was becoming rather dire for groups like Jaysh Al-Izza.
Jaysh Al-Izza, a Free Syrian Army faction that operates solely in northern Hama and southern Idlib, recently issued a general mobilization call to all available rebel units in northwestern Syria.
The reason for this mobilization call was due to Jaysh Al-Izza’s heavy losses as a result of the Russian bombardment of northern Hama these past few weeks.
