
BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 P.M.) – The Turkish military killed fifteen members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in eastern Turkey on Tuesday, the Turkish Interior Ministry reported.
According to their statement, the 15 PKK fighters were killed during a Turkish counter-terrorism operation in the eastern part of the country.
In particular, twelve of the PKK fighters killed in the eastern part of the Kars Province and the remaining three combatants were killed in the Siirt Province.
The Turkish military has conducted several operations against the PKK and their affiliates in southeast Turkey, northern Iraq, and northern Syria this year, with the primary focus being the group’s sleeper cells.
