BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:45 A.M.) – The relationship between the United States and Turkey is in danger due to the U.S.’ threats of sanctions, Erdogan stated on Sunday.

“We will not take a step back when faced with sanctions,” Erdogan said, as quoted by TRT Haber.

“They should not forget that they will lose a sincere partner,” he added.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to sanction Turkey if Ankara did not release American pastor Andrew Brunson.

Brunson was arrested shortly after the failed coup in 2016; he was accused of supporting the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

If Brunson is convicted of aiding the PKK, he faces 35 years in a Turkish prison.

“We will not take a step back when faced with sanctions,”
=> They just did so when facing far milder Russian sanctions

“Sincere partner”?
ROFL!!!! Erdogan has tried to blackmail all his partners at a moment or another, when he didn’t backstabbed them, e.g. Syria, but just think how many billions his son made by buying ISIS blood-oil at $15-20 per barrel or how he sent hitmen to assassinate Kurdish (peaceful) activists in France or Germany and you know Erdogan ruled Turkey is a sincere partner…
The question being… sincere partner to whom? The Muslim Brotherhood?
