BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) – U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted on Sunday that his nation’s armed forces are beginning their “long overdue pullout from Syria” as the battle against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) reaches its conclusion.

“Starting the long overdue pullout from Syria while hitting the little remaining ISIS territorial caliphate hard, and from many directions,” Trump began.

Trump continued that the U.S. “will attack again from existing nearby base if it reforms.”

To conclude his tweet, the U.S. President warned Turkey against attacking the Kurds.

“Will devastate Turkey economically if they hit Kurds. Create 20 mile safe zone….” he added.

This is the first time Trump has called on implementing a safe zone in northern Syria that would protect the Kurdish forces from a Turkish attack.
