BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:10 A.M.) – The leader of the National Salvation Front in Syria (NSF), Fahad Almasri, told The Media Line publication that he is interested in opening diplomatic channels with and possibly normalizing relations with Israel.

Almasri, a former spokesperson for the Free Syrian Army (FSA), told the publication that he has the bravery to open up talks with Israel. “We have the courage and the open political vision. The reason is: the… change that has occurred in Syrian society. [This change] led to the reevaluation of all concepts and values and the fall of slogans.

The France-based opposition leader says it is important to recognize Israel as a regional player and to open up dialogue with them. “We must recognize that Israel is an important regional state, a fact that exists whether recognized by regional and Arab parties or not. Israel is an internationally recognized state and is supported by all the nations of the world,” he told The Media Line.

In regards to the Palestinian cause, he says the situation is at a turning point, with the Palestinian leadership seeking negotiations with Israe.

“After all the destruction that happened in Syria, is the problem of the Syrian people the Palestinian issue, especially since the Palestinians themselves have entered into negotiations with the Israeli state? The Palestinian problem is at another turning point,” he said. “Consequently, the Syrian people paid more than 80 years of their livelihood, security, stability and political life, which was absent as a result of slogans and trafficking in the suffering of the Palestinian people.”

Almasri previously called on Israel to destroy the Hezbollah forces inside of Syria, while applauding their several attacks on the Lebanese group.

“There must be coordination between us and the IDF so that there is movement on the ground for the Syrian [opposition] factions with Israeli-American- British-French air cover to crush the Iranian, Palestinian and Iraqi military presence on the land of Syria. For this we [would] welcome the formation of an Israeli-Syrian committee of coordination and security cooperation which has become necessary at this stage,” he added.

There is also a terrible miscalculation from Almasri : Israelis perfectly know that FSA has seriously been in bed with mujahideen like al-Julani and other roaches… So IDF quietly watches Nusra, FSA, ISIS, Hezbo, IRGC while just doing containment, e.g. when they had the Golan Knights Syrian-Druzes patrolling the UNDOF DMZ, or when they prevent missiles transfers from Iran… IDF won’t start to really pound Hezb+IRGC until Assad will have cleansed Idlib, Afrin, and NE-Aleppo… It’s NOT Israel’s interest to see Assad fall… This even was the cause for the serious spat between Obongo and Bibi and the fact that… Read more »

l**o we knew about their stance on “Israel” already 8 years ago. They are Zionist tools. Why Al Qa’ida and ISIS never threaten “Israel”? Yeah, we know why 🙄

ISIS/Sinai Wilayat are Hamas members who are wrecking havoc in Egypt, Israeli drones regularly bomb them in Sinai. There is simply no need to have ISIS/Qaeda acting against Israel : they’re already there, they just use another name… And are also backed by Qatar, Turkey and Iran… Yeah, we know why 🙄 Moreover, the use of another name allows your propaganda to use the poor bias you just showed us… Oh, BTW, Hamas openly backed al-Nusra’s actions in Syria. Hamas being OFFICIALLY part of Muslim Brotherhood, they obviously managed to fool Assad since Khalid Mashal HQ was in Damascus until… Read more »

There’s something worst to do : Islam means “submission” and it makes you poor and martyred and mutilated for something that doesn’t exists when Khamenei, Hanniyeh, Abu Marzook, Khalid Mashal, Arafat, Abbas, all are billionaires in dollars, well, Nasrallah is a bit more modest : he only owns $300 millions…

If all Iranians were Zoroastrian, Iran would still be progressive and prosperous.
Islam is only for the Arabian peninsula, even Coran and Hadiths are clear about it! It has nothing to do in Persia, Levant, North-Africa or elsewhere…

Thats what Assad needs to do. Normalize relationship with Israel. Israel is ruled by a government so its Assad/Syrian government job to secure Syrian people individual freedoms like free-trade and free-movement by establishing good relationship with Israel government. Assad needs to support more free-market capitalism and reduce taxes. Government should be reduces to a minimum in favor of free-market and individual freedoms (private armies, private security, private everything does a better job than government anyway! Assad Syria is a superpower now and needs to act like it. Syria-Israel free-trade and cooperation will benefit Syrians and Israeli people. Its good for… Read more »

the point of reason is: the existence of Israel is a fact that will not go away and that any party in the region has to take into account; moreover, Icannot see what real and substantial differences, from the point of interests, Iran could have with Israel.
But when Almasri urges Israel to intervene in Syria on behalf of his so-called “opposition”: that’s not the voice of reason, but of treason, calling the enemy to destroy his country.

Hypocrite!
Putin owns a nice apartment in Tel-Aviv, so he must be a Zionist 😉
BTW, he lets IDF pound Hezbollocks and IRGC at will.
Many Israelis have double nationality, including 1 millions being Russian too…
Russia’s access to high tech is highly related to this since Tel-Aviv has became the Silicon Valley v2.0

In fact, it’s Assad who NEEDS to consider normalisation and to get rid of Hezbollocks, IRGC and the Palishit.
Almasri is nothing (BTW, it’s an Egyptian name)
