BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:50 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big attack aginst the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in the Al-Safa volcanic region of Al-Sweida, yesterday, targeting several areas controlled by the terrorist group.
Backed by the newly arrive 5th and 9th divisions, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the Islamic State positions at Al-Safa from the northeastern and southwestern axes of this vast volcanic region.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army managed to liberate more than 1 kilometer of territory inside the Qabr Sheikh Hussein area after a fierce battle with the Islamic State terrorists.
The source said that during the Syrian Arab Army’s operation, at least five soldiers were killed, including one officer, and another 3 dozen were wounded.
He would add that the Islamic State would suffer more than 15 casualties of their own before they would launched their counter-assault last night.

Since making this advance, the Syrian Arab Army has found themselves on the defensive in the Al-Safa region, as several Islamic State terrorists storm the areas they recently liberated this week.
