DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:45 P.M.) – Huge explosions ripped through the Western countrywide of Damascus as the Syrian forces began a preliminary bombing of  the jihadist-held town of Mughur al-Meer ahead of a wide-scale ground invasion.

The fresh campaign comes one week after the Syrian Army – spearheaded by the elite 4th Armored Division – managed to reclaim all surrounding hilltops overlooking the town.

Mughur al-Meer, a small town controlled by al-Qaeda-linked militants – bears a strategic importance as it is located directly to the east of Beit Jinn; the major and last jihadi stronghold in west Damascus.

Having cut off the supply route linking the two insurgent bastions, the government forces – which also include units from the veteran 7th Division – are inching closer to clear out the whole western countryside of Damascus.

The SAA’s purge of US/Israeli sponsored terrorism in Syria continues relentlessly to liberate all of Syrian lands.

Bravo.
