BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has intensified their attacks against the jihadist forces in northern Hama these 48 hours after the latter launched several infiltration attempts this past weekend.
According to a military source in the government stronghold of Mhardeh, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) have been targeting the jihadist and Islamist forces along the vast Hama-Idlib axis for much of this week.
These attacks by the Syrian military have concentrated on the large network of trenches that have been dug by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in southern Idlib and Jaysh Al-Izza in northern Hama.
The source in Mhardeh said these trenches and tunnels are a clear violation of the demilitarized zone agreement, adding that they have no plans to adhere to the Sochi deal from September 17th.
