BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has begun the final phase of their Quraytayn operation this morning after a two week long battle with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) in this desert region of the Homs Governorate.

Led by elements of the Qalamoun Shield and 5th Legion, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the Islamic State’s defenses north of Quraytayn, reaching the city’s gates after a swift advance this morning.

According to preliminary reports from the military in Homs, the Syrian Army has entered Quraytayn and liberated several buildings in the northern district of the city; however, this is still unconfirmed.

Once Quraytayn is finally cleared, the Syrian Arab Army can continue their cleansing operations around the city to destroy the Islamic State’s sleeper cells.
