The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) launched a powerful series of airstrikes in the Deir Ezzor countryside on Saturday, targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) positions in the Al-Jalaliyah and Al-Husseiniyah districts.

According to a military source at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport, the Syrian Air Force struck ISIS’ headquarters in the northwestern part of the provincial capital (Al-Jalaliyah), destroying the entire command-and-control center while also killing a large number of terrorists in the process.

Meanwhile, in the Palmyra countryside, the Syrian Armed Forces advanced along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway, capturing more territory from the ISIS terrorists near the village of ‘Arak.

South of ‘Arak, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” continued their push towards the T-3 Pumping Station, striking ISIS’ positions in this vast desert area.

In the coming weeks; this assault in east Palmyra is expected to intensify as the Russian and Syrian air forces continue to pound ISIS’ defenses.

The photo is of home, jihadist, made cannon, not military issue. Surely the Editor In Chief could find a better photo.
