Two Russian Tu-160 heavy strategic bombers, an An-124 airlift jet aircraft and an Il-62 airliner returned from Caracas in Venezuela to Engels Air Force Base in Russia, as shown in footage released on Saturday.
“I would like to thank you again for such warm hospitality. As I said in my speech earlier, your warm climate is not just from the warmth of nature but also the warmth in your hearts,” Long-Range Aviation of Russian Aerospace Forces Commander Lieutenant-General Sergei Kobylash said.
The crews practiced navigating in local climate conditions and participated in joint drills with their Venezuelan counterparts.
The Russian aircraft and crews made their way from Russia to Maiquetia “Simon Bolivar” International Airport on December 10.
