BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:45 P.M.) – The Russian military has continued their air force buildup at the Hmeimim Airport this week, sending their Su-25 fleet to Syria after previously redeploying them.

Based on satellite images released by the Israel-based Image Sat International group, the Russian Air Force has deployed more Su-25 fighter jets to the Hmeimim Airport in the southwestern province of Latakia.

According to ISI, the Russian Air Force deployed four new Su-25 deflectors, which is part of their ongoing buildup before the upcoming Idlib offensive.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has already begun building up their forces around the Idlib Governorate, with thousands of soldiers from the Tiger Forces, 4th Armored Division, 5th Corps, and Republican Guard making their way to this front in northern Syria.

While the date for the offensive has not been announced, it is expected to commence this summer as both the Russian and Turkish armed forces work out a potential deal to clear out the jihadists from Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
