BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:10 P.M.) – The Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a large number of airstrikes over the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate, the Syrian military reported today.

According to the Syrian military, the Russian Aerospace Forces primarily conducted airstrikes over the towns of Kafr Zita, Al-Lataminah, and Al-Saiyad.

These airstrikes were conducted in retaliation for the jihadist shelling of the government-held towns of Salhab and Al-Suqaylabiyah in the northwestern countryside of Hama.

Below is a video showing one of the Russian airstrikes over the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate – footage was released by pro-opposition activists:

The jihadist rebels have responded to the Russian airstrikes this afternoon by attacking the Hama Military Airport with several grad missiles – no casualties reported, as the missiles did not reach the installation.
