BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:30 P.M.) – The Russian Federation will begin their delivery of the S-400 missile defense system to Turkey in 2019, the Interfax News Agency reported today, citing the arms exporter Rosoboronexport as saying.

Turkey and Russia agreed earlier this year to begin the delivery of the S-400 systems in the near future; however, a date was not set.

The U.S. has warned Turkey about acquiring the Russian-manufactured S-400 missile defense system because of their sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The Trump administration has vowed to block the delivery of the F-35 fighter jets to Turkey if they were to go through with this acquisition.

In response, Turkey has refused to abandon the acquisition of S-400 system, adding that their nation’s security is a top priority.

Wouldn’t be a great loss for NATO, especially now… If you think Putin forgave Erdogan for having funded Chechen shitlamists, for the Su-24M and the ambassador, having forced Mother-Russia to intervene in Syria and other stuff… Since mostly all Turkish aircraft are US, and a lot of army+navy gear too, once deprived of spareparts and out of the NATO’s Ch.5 mutual defence pact, with Russia, EU especially Cyprus, Greece, Germany, France and also Syria, Israel and the Kurds having good reasons to be furious on Turkey… Well… Sèvres Treaty 2.0/Balkanisation??? As I predicted, near 3 years ago, Turkey is likely… Read more »

After how Turkey back-stabbed Syria, Iraq, Russia, China, Center-Asia countries, its own Kurds, well, the new axis will surely be formidable : Qatar, Turkey, Iran! Qatar’s economy is now flat-lining at the point they can’t even find loans to pay for the 24 EF-2000 Typhoon they ordered, thanks to GCC sanctions, Turkish lira has lost 40% of its value while, considering the economics of Iran, the 2018 GDP per capita won’t be more than $2500… Welcome to the 3rd world… Well, it surely can’t be called the “Axis of Resistance”, the only one that need to resist are the populations…… Read more »

Russia must tell Turkey that it has to go back home and forget to get Syria territory for itself.

Let me get this straight… because the US alleges without solid evidence that Russia meddled in our election, Trump claims the right to wage economic warfare on Russia, and anyone doing business with them. Thus Trump now says he will dishonor the contract he signed with Turkey for the sale of advanced fighters, because Turkey will be buying top-notch air defenses from Russia. The F-35 is obscenely expensive and a death-trap for its pilots… the world should ignore or counter American arrogance.
