Cientos de combatientes rebeldes que llegaron a acuerdos de reconciliación con el gobierno en Daraa, se incorporaron a las filas del ejército sirio en el asalto final contra el ISIS en el oeste de la provincia.

La nueva situación ha generado enojo en otros militantes que se negaron a llegar a un acuerdo con Damasco, y fueron evacuados al norte del país, quienes acusan a sus antiguos “compañeros de armas” de traicionar la causa de la “revolución”.

La mayoría de los bastiones rebeldes en la sureña provincia han sido recuperados por el ejército a través de distintos acuerdos de reconciliación, que permitieron a los militantes que los aceptaron entregar sus armas e incorporarse a filas con tropas gubernamentales a cambio de resolver su situación legal.

El eje de los combates ha virado hacia el sector oeste de Daraa, donde el autodenominado “Estado Islámico” controla una amplia franja de territorio que bordea los Altos del Golán ocupados por el Estado de Israel.
