BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:15 A.M.) – The Armenian Holocaust Memorial in the Deir Ezzor Governorate has been liberated by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) after being occupied by terrorist forces for several years.

Prior to its liberation, the memorial had been badly damaged by the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Jabhat Al-Nusra (Al-Qaeda), and Islamic State (ISIS).

While no immediate plans have been announced by the Syrian government to fix the memorial, its restoration will likely happen during the rebuilding of Deir Ezzor.

Below are pictures released by the Syrian Army of the liberated Armenian Holocaust Memorial:

Deir Ezzor City was fully liberated by the Syrian Arab Army last Thursday; it was partially occupied the Islamic State for more than three years prior to its liberation.

No to genocide

“Holocaust” is a very wrong word meaning a “sacrifice by fire”, a very occult thing. That was a genocide of the Armenian Christians by Turks.

You’re right about the etymology but the sense of holocaust has shifted since.
