BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:30 A.M.) – The Islamist rebels of Faylaq Al-Rahman have not had much sleep in east Damascus over the last few days, as the Syrian military keeps them awake each night with nonstop missile and artillery strikes.

Saturday night would prove no different for Faylaq Al-Rahman, as the Syrian Arab Army’s 42nd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division rained surface-to-surface missiles over the Islamist defenses in the suburb of Jobar.

Video footage of the attack was released by local media activists last night:

In the coming hours, the Syrian military will resume their ground operation to expand on their territorial gains inside of Jobar, further pushing Faylaq Al-Rahman and their jihadist allies to surrender the suburb before being overrun.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.
