Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on September 10, 2017

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:10 P.M.) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held aloft what he claimed was a fragment of an Iranian drone downed over Israel, at the Munich Security Conference, Sunday.

“Here’s a piece of that Iranian drone, or what’s left of it after we shot it down,” he said.

He added: “I brought it here so you can see it for yourself. Mr Zarif [Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif], do you recognise this? You should. It’s yours. You can take back with you a message to the tyrants of Iran: do not test Israel’s resolve.”

That is a rudder of a plane or drone. It could be from any plane even Zionist ones. For sure this is just a publicity stance. Iran does not fear the US let alone this insignificant devil worshiper who was knocked out by an army of a few thousand Hezbollah fighters. This diversion will not stop Nethanyahu from being thrown to prison for corruption either.

The pictures of the Saeqeh (RQ-170 Sentinel drone copy) shot down by IDF are on ALL aviation forums, so is the footage of the downing! In 2006, Hebo had 2000 active combatants (and 8000 in reserve), they ended with 2000 casualties! l**o! It was the UNSC resolution that ordered Israel to withdraw! It also ordered ALL Lebanese militias to disarm. All but Hezbo complied… And Hezbo is far from having friends in Lebanese govt : both PM and prez of the chamber are against ’em. Lebanon lost 20% of its economy and had 2000 dead, thanks to Hezbo starting a… Read more »

Arabs consider it a moral victory of Hezbo that it has fought the IDF in an asymmetric engagement instead of running away. There is no way a force of 10.000 can defeat 176.000 equipped with better gear. UNSC call to withdraw was not the point. IDF did not want to be bogged down into an asymmetric war of attrition. After they had achieved most of their military objectives. So they moved out. Hezbo was not deterred or annihilated and stayed. So neither side can claim total deafest/victory. p.s. The guerilla wins the round when his forces survived the engagement and… Read more »

It was a force of 10,000 if you counted the reserve… Well, count IDF reserve and they’re 800,000! Moral victory, BS! Lebanon took serious hits, the country was on fire, nearly all Hezbo active fighters were wounded and the 3rd of them killed. Nasrallah called Bashar to move the wounded in Syrian hospitals as a cover-up and in order not ending losing face in Lebanon. He himself ended saying that had he knew Israel was able to respond so violently to HB aggression, he wouldn’t had started the war. It’s not a moral victory, it’s a Pyrrhic victory! Another one… Read more »

I doubt that drone has been sent by Iranians directly. SAA was using Iranian drones to hit ISIS near Golan. Israel can tolerate its ISIS neighbors and attack the forces that hunt ISIS. Israel set up field hospitals for ISIS. Israel violates syrian airspace every once and a while and what they expect is that syria sit and watch? No those days are finished. Israhell should pay for its invasions.

He should have held up a piece of the Israeli F-16 because there will be more to come.

Syria just lost half of its air defences in this affair. What actually happened is they organsed a SAM-trap using the Iranian drone as a bait. Well, Serbs used their half out of use Mig-29 to drag some NATO aircraft into SAM-traps too and aso shot down F-16… It didn’t prevented ’em to be ousted from Kosovo and ending with Karadzik and Mladiç jailed… Now Arrow-2/3 are deployed and ready to intercept S-200 just as it happened last April… 1 loss to air defences in 30 years+ is far to be a great success. If for any ‘successful’ action taken… Read more »

What the Syrians did was stupid.

You only shoot a single F 16 down if You are sure You can down all or most.

p.s. That is how we think.

We defeated Rome in 09 when it was THE world power – after paying tribute for a while. We did the same for e.g. the Hungarians (first military power in Europe at that date) on the Lechfeld. Until we were ready we paid.

We also paid tribute to the Turks. When we stopped, they came and were returned home in 1683. LOL
