DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:10 PM) – Social media users in the Somalian capital of Mogadishu report that a massive explosion has taken place near the Presidential Palace in the centre of the city. This is reported by Sputnik News.
Mohamed Hussein, a local police officer, allegedly spoke to Reuters about a “huge blast” having taken place close to the national theatre in the heart of the city. He added however that it is too early to provide additional details at the moment.
Local journalist Harun Maruf added via Twitter that the explosion was followed by gunfire and that evacuation of the wounded people was already going on from the Hotel NASA Hablod 2 and Banoda Restaurant in Mogadishu.
