The Lebanese Kata’eb Party celebrated the 11th anniversary of the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) departure from Lebanon after their 16 year presence following the 1989 Taif Agreement.

Kataeb Party leader, Sami Gemayel, stressed that Lebanon belongs to the Lebanese people and not the Arab world or Syria.

“We do not want Daesh nor Bashar nor Syria nor Arabs nor Iran, but rather Lebanon, first and foremost.”

He later added, “this country deserves all sacrifices, so enough of making us choose between bad and worse alternatives!”

Gemayel concluded by blaming the Syrian Army for Lebanon’s present state.

This ceremony was held at the Al-Qala’a Monastery in Beit Mary, in the presence of several political figures and dignitaries.

The Free Liberal Party head, Dory Chamoun, would also attack the Syrian Army, blaming them for much of Lebanon’s destruction.

Lebanon should get on with the job of fixing things up if there that bad and stop bitching, you’ll be glad when Syria defeats the rebels because you would have been on the rebels list for occupation of a worse kind.

This is a bottom line about Sami Gemayel. He hasn’t changed since the Lebanese Civil War. He is still craving for “good old days” of Zionist occupation. In May 2010, he criticized Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, asking him if he thought that all Lebanese who shared the Phalange’s views were “Israeli agents.”[12] On 8 September 2010, he claimed that “he is not ashamed that his party dealt with Israel against Syria at a certain stage.” Sami insisted that given the situation in which they were facing both PLO militiamen and Syrian troops, the Phalange had no choice but to accept… Read more »

A buddy of mine served in the FINUL nearly 30y ago in Lebanon. He told me that ALL militias and troops acting here were pure a*****e! Sometimes they had to even shot 10/12y old kids as they had AKs and began to shot on them or against civilians for no reason and everybody was using children as cannon-fodder and everybody was deliberately targetting civilians. Was it israelians, palestinians, hizbullah, syrian army, christian militias, druzes, all were criminals for him. The guys he hated the more were the snipers, they were even shooting young children or pregnant women… As in this… Read more »
