BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:45 A.M.) – The Lebanese Army resumed their attack against the Islamic State (ISIL), Thursday, after a short hiatus for political negotiations.

Lebanese Army units began pounding the Islamic State’s positions in the Ras Ba’albak region of the Beqa’a Governorate during the wee hours on Thursday, destroying several installations and trenches belonging to the terrorist group.

In addition to shelling, the Lebanese military carried out an attack using their attack helicopters; this provided them leverage over the fleeing terrorist forces.

The Lebanese Intelligence Chief, ‘Abbas Ibrahim, recently met with the Islamic State’s leadership in eastern Lebanon to discuss their surrender; however, the terrorist group rejected the government’s offer.
