BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 A.M.) – The leader of a large Arab tribe in the Al-Raqqa Governorate has called on the Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and his nation’s armed forces to retake the provincial capital and northern Syria from the “US and Turkish occupiers.”
In a new video, the leader of the Abu Jaber Tribe, Sheikh Fayiq ‘Aayiq Al-Deif, delivered a speech that called on the Syrian state to retake Al-Raqqa from the ‘occupiers’, a reference to the U.S. and Turkish forces in Syria.
“We call on his eminence Bashar Al-Assad, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, to urgently interject in Al-Raqqa to expel the U.S. and Turkish occupiers,” the Arab tribal leader said.
“Long live Syria and long live its army and long its leader President Bashar Hafezh Al-Assad and long live the Syrian people,” he added.
The Abu Jaber Tribe has been loyal to the Syrian government, often sending members of their clan to help the Syrian Arab Army in their battles against the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in northern Syria.
