BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – A large number of Iraqi paramilitary personnel have joined the imperative offensive to liberate the Islamic State (ISIS) stronghold of Albukamal, a military source told Al-Masdar News.

Fighting alongside the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), Liwaa Fatemiyoun (Afghani-Iranian paramilitary), Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Iraqi fighters crossed over the Syrian border recently to participate in the Albukamal offensive.

The Iraqi fighters are comprised of Hashd Al-Sha’abi (Popular Mobilization Units) personnel that have taken part in several offensives inside the Al-Anbar, Nineveh, and Salaheddine governorates.

These Hashd Al-Sha’abi fighters will play an integral part in the upcoming battle to take Albukamal, as they have a lot of experience fighting the Islamic State terrorists in the desert.

Be very careful about dear SAA and allies, to not repeat the same mistakes made in the previous arrangement to the capture and reconquest of the Omar field oil whith a lot of noise and wait and nothing more that shame and failure at the end . Please more action and… Read more »

From the maps provided from the past three weeks by this same news outlet it seems the Syrian government forces are standing put and not advancing at all, from both al-Mayadin and the T2 pumping station area. I hate all this unfounded speculation about advances that never occur because of some power’s behind the scenes agreement with the US colonial imperialist aggressors, invaders and occupiers of Syrian sovereign land. If we had not been in this obsurd situation three consecutive times before I would hope for the better for Syria. But when I see this deliberate procrastination both I and… Read more »
