BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham published a statement on Wednesday in which they vowed to launch more attacks against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their Russian allies in the Idlib and Hama governorates.

According to the jihadist group’s spokesperson Abu Khaled Al-Shami, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham will be launching more attacks against the Syrian Arab Army and Russian military in the coming days, adding that these strikes will be conducted in retaliation for the recent airstrikes on southern Idlib.

Earlier this week, the Syrian and Russian air forces unleashed a heavy barrage of airstrikes over the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.

In particular, the Syrian and Russian air forces heavily targeted the area around the key town of Khan Sheikhoun; this resulted in the destruction of a Jaysh Al-Izza military base and the death of several militants.

The Syrian military said these airstrikes were conducted in retaliation for the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham raids on their positions in northern Hama and southern Idlib.

These Hay’st Tahrir Al-Sham raids resulted in the death of over 20 Syrian Arab Army soldiers.
