The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched another offensive at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport on Saturday, striking the southern perimeter of the base and the nearby villages of Al-Muri’iyah and Al-Jafra as well.

ISIS began their assault by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s defenses at the village of Al-Muri’iyah; this would result in a violent battle that would last for more than 6 hours on Saturday.

Luckily, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to beat back the ISIS militants, but not before the terrorist group struck again at Al-Jafra and the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

In the late afternoon, ISIS’ offensive intensified as they targeted the Deir Ezzor Military Airport and Al-Jafra village; this major assault would be repelled by the Syrian Armed Forces within two hours.

According to a military source at the Deir Ezzor Military Airport, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard and the 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division killed a total of 34 ISIS terrorists on Saturday, including a number of foreigners from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria.

  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Don’t they just give up trying to overrun the SAA’s defences? ISIS have lost hundreds of men trying to do so…
