BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – The so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) continued their reign of terror against the people of east Syria this week, as their terrorists executed more civilians from the Deir Ezzor province.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the Islamic State executed five civilians from the town of Al-Sha’afah on charges of ‘espionage’.
The Islamic State terrorists accused the civilians of working with the U.S. Coalition and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
No further details were released by SOHR or any local activists.
Recently, the Islamic State has carried out several executions in response to a series of battlefield losses they suffered at the hands of the Syrian Democratic Forces and Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
With their ‘caliphate’ fragmented in southern and eastern Syria, the Islamic State has begun executing hostages in an effort to force the SDF and SAA to halt their operations against them.
