BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their operations inside Deir Ezzor last night, targeting the last areas under the Islamic State’s (ISIS) control along the western bank of the Euphrates River.

Led by their elite Tiger Forces and 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army struck the Islamic State’s last positions inside Al-Rashidiyah and Al-Ardi.

By midnight, the Syrian Arab Army was in full control of the aforementioned districts, leaving the entire western part of Deir Ezzor City ISIS-free for the first time since 2014.

The Islamic State is now confined to a small area along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, meaning 97 percent of Deir Ezzor City has been liberated.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
