BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:45 A.M.) – The Iraqi Army, alongside the Federal Police forces, liberated a new district inside the western sector of Mosul, local activists reported on Thursday.

According to the reports from Mosul, the Iraqi Armed Forces liberated the Al-Thuwrah Neighborhood after several days of intense clashes with the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization.

As a result of this advance, the Iraqi Armed Forces are now in control of 60 percent of western Mosul, leaving the Islamic State in poor position to guard the remaining parts of the city.
