The United Arab Emirates armed forces demonstrated their prowess in performing counter-terrorism operations using a wide range of military equipment and hardware at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2019 in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

On a 250-meter to the 60-meter performance stage, specially constructed in the car park of the Abu Dhabi’s National Exhibitions Company [ADNEC] Exhibition Centre, Emirates’ elite military group, representing the land forces, special forces, navy and air force, arranged an action-packed and engaging show.

With the help of techniques like virtual reality, artificial intelligence and robotics, alongside naval and air support, UAE elite troops liberated area from militia who had taken control of an abandoned military base during a simulation drill.

The enactment featured low passing jet fly-bys, helicopter and tank attacks, naval support, fast-moving armoured vehicles pursuits involving tanks and armoured vehicles, ballistic rocket launch as well as full set movie-grade special effects, explosions and bullet hits. A large group of drones at one point covered the sky.

The IDEX which is one of the leading shows in the defence industry, kicked-off in Abu Dhabi on February 17 and will last till February 21.
