El día de ayer las tropas del ejército sirio liberaron el estratégico pueblo de Sinjar, en la campiña del sur de Idlib luego de una breve batalla con los rebeldes jihadistas.

Junto con ello, las fuerzas pro-gubernamentales liberaron 14 asentamientos en la zona durante el día de hoy, alcanzando la frontera con las provincias de Alepo y Hama.

De acuerdo a una fuente militar, el destacamento de élite “Fuerzas Tigre” lanzó un amplio ataque a las líneas jihadistas logrando el control de los pueblos y villas de Burtqalah, Khalidiyah, al-Freijah, al-Jahman, al-Dawoudiyah, Rub al-Hawa, Bo Aleej, Aleej, Jub Kasb, Bashjun, Harjalah, Maksar Fawkani, Maksar at-Tahtani y Mushrifat Marmalah.

Este avance representa un giro hacia el este desde Sinjar y se enmarca en el objetivo de alcanzar pronto el aeropuerto militar de Abu Duhur, en manos terroristas desde septiembre de 2015, y del que se encuentran a menos de 10 km de distancia.

Además, la liberación de Sinjar ha puesto presión sobre los destacamentos jihadistas ubicados al este de este punto, ya que su línea de aprovisionamiento hacia Ma’arat al-Nu’man y Khan Sheikhoun se encuentra ahora bloqueada por las fuerzas del gobierno.
