BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:30 P.M.) – Former rebels from the northern countryside of Homs are taking part in the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) ongoing offensive in the Daraa Governorate.

According to the former field commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Tawheed Brigade, Mohammad Hannoush, his former rebel force is fighting alongside the Syrian Army’s 5th Legion against the militants in the Tal Al-Harrah area.

Hannoush said that at least 50 former rebels from the Al-Tawheed Brigade are currently taking part in the Daraa battle.

The Al-Tawheed Brigade was primarily active inside the former rebel stronghold of Talbiseh, which is located inside the Al-Rastan Plain of northern Homs.

The former rebel commander was not guilty of any crimes against the Syrian people and was given amnesty by the government, despite years of fighting against them in northern Homs.

Now, the former rebel commander is leading his fighters in battle against his former rebel group and its allies.
