El Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) está preparándose para lanzar una masiva ofensiva para limpiar el este y sureste de la Gobernación de Idlib que se mantienen bajo control de rebeldes jihadistas y del autodenominado Estado Islámico (ISIS).

De acuerdo a fuentes militares de Damasco, la 5ª Legión del EAS y la Guardia Republicana están tomando posiciones a lo largo del bolsón de 900 km cuadrados en Idlib.

Una vez que este último reducto terrorista sea limpiado, las fuerzas militares sirias tendrán control completo de la parte este del eje Idlib-Hama por primera vez en años.

Mientras tanto, en el norte del bolsón otras unidades de la Guardia Republicana y sus aliados palestinos de la brigada “Liwaa al-Quds” se preparan para limpiar parte del camino que une Saraqib del campo en el este de Idlib.

Estas dos batallas se prevén costosas para el ejército sirio, ya que apuntan a zonas de Idlib que se encuentran llenas de experimentados combatientes jihadistas.
