En el marco del contundente avance que han protagonizado las fuerzas militares sirias y sus aliados en la Gobernación de Idlib, este sábado el Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) liberó varios pueblos que se encontraban bajo control de Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham y Jaysh Al-‘Izza.

El día comenzó con el avance de las Fuerzas Tigre en dos pueblos ubicados al sur de Sinjar, un punto fuerte jihadista localizado al este de Ma’arat al-Nu’man.

A continuación, las unidades militares involucradas en la ofensiva continuaron avanzando hacia el norte, alcanzando los límites de la ciudad durante la tarde.

Sinjar es actualmente de alta prioridad para el Alto Mando del Ejército Sirio debido a que el camino que lo atraviesa enlaza directamente con Ma’arat al-Nu’man, un importante nudo carretero sobre la autopista Idlib-Hama.

De esta manera, los rebeldes jihadistas continúan retrocediendo en dirección a la Base Aérea Militar de Abu Duhur, la que capturaron el 9 de septiembre de 2015 tras un asedio que se inició en septiembre de 2012.
