BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The Egyptian military announced Wednesday afternoon that their forces had eliminated 27 terrorists during their new operation dubbed “Sinai 2018”.

According to a their official statement, the Egyptian Armed Forces killed a total of 27 terrorists near the vast Libyan border and the northern part of the Sinai Peninsula.

The Egyptian military reported that the Sinai 2018 operation resulted in the arrest of 403 wanted suspects, the destruction of 342 terrorist hideouts, and the destruction of 61 four-wheel drive vehicles.

The army also seized a number of arms, ammunition, and communication devices.

Military Engineers discovered and detonated 344 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that were planted to target the various operational hubs in the area.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of 26 vehicles and 83 motorcycles without license plates, used by terrorist elements.
