DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3:00 P.M.) – Egypt’s Ministry of Defense has published a video footage that shows Egyptian Air Force destroying camps and various facilities of the so-called “Islamic State” (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) in Libya.

Massive air raid took place on Friday evening, May 26.

Powerful airstrikes came in revenge for the latest terrorist attack on Coptic Christians in Egypt resulted in deaths of 28 civilians, mostly women and children.

IS claimed responsibility for the attack, consequently becoming a target for retaliation bombardment.

This is not the first time Egyptian Air Force targets IS bases in Libya; thus, in 2015, Egyptian airstrikes on Libyan territory eliminated up to 80 jihadists.

It is noteworthy that bombardment conducted in 2015 was an act of retaliation for IS’ attack on Copts, as well.
