BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – A senior Hamas official has been allegedly assassinated in the Gaza Strip, today, the Al-Quds News Network reported this afternoon.

According to the Al-Quds report, ‘Imad Al-Alami was shot in the head while traveling through Gaza City this morning.

Prior to his assassination, Al-Alami was the head of the Hamas office in Tehran after he was expelled from the Gaza Strip by the Israeli forces.

No further details have been released.

Update: Hamas Spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said Al-Alami was wounded while inspecting his gun – Barhoum added that he is in critical condition.
