BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 A.M.) – The Russian military has deployed to the Dara’a Governorate today to begin their indefinite operation to monitor the ceasefire in southern Syria, a military source informed Al-Masdar News.
According to the military source, the Russian military will be specifically headquartered in the Dara’a Governorate city of Izra’a, as they serve as the primary force observing the de-escalation zones in the southern part of Syria.
While their military personnel were already present in Dara’a to advise the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops in southern Syria, this is the first time the Russian units have been deployed in this size.
There is no word on whether or not U.S. and Jordanian troops will be deployed to this area in order to observe the ceasefire and monitor the de-escalation zones.
