BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:30 P.M.) – Another town has accepted the Syrian government’s terms of reconciliation in the Daraa Governorate, local field journalists reported this afternoon.
According to reports from the Daraa Governorate, the rebel forces in the town of Al-Yadoudah have agreed to reconcile with the Syrian government after several days of fighting near the provincial capital.
Al-Yadoudah is located northwest of the provincial capital; it was used a launching point for previous rebel offensives on the Syrian Army-held districts in Daraa city.
Russian military police are expected to enter Al-Yadoudah in the coming hours, as the remaining rebels either leave for west Daraa or agree to settle their cases with the government.
While negotiations in Al-Yadoudah were successful, the peace talks in the southern districts of Daraa have once again collapsed, a military source told Al-Masdar News this afternoon.
Peace talks in Daraa city are expected to restart tomorrow morning when the Russian Reconciliation Center personnel return to the southern districts.
